By default the theme uses a combination of your blog name and your blog description, as defined when you created your blog, to create your homepage titles. However if you want to create a custom title then simply enable this option and fill in the custom title field below.
By default the theme uses your blog description, as defined when you created your blog, to fill in the meta description field. If you would like to use a different description then enable this option and fill in the custom description field below.
By default the theme does not add keywords to your header. Most search engines don't use keywords to rank your site anymore, but some people define them anyway just in case. If you want to add meta keywords to your header then enable this option and fill in the custom keywords field below.
Canonicalization helps to prevent the indexing of duplicate content by search engines, and as a result, may help avoid duplicate content penalties and pagerank degradation. Some pages may have different URLs all leading to the same place. For example domain.com, domain.com/index.html, and www.domain.com are all different URLs leading to your homepage. From a search engine's perspective these duplicate URLs, which also occur often due to custom permalinks, may be treaded individually instead of as a single destination. Defining a canonical URL tells the search engine which URL you would like to use officially. The theme bases its canonical URLs off your permalinks and the domain name defined in the settings tab of wp-admin.
If you have enabled custom titles you can add your custom title here. Whatever you type here will be placed between the < title >< /title > tags in header.php
If you have enabled meta descriptions you can add your custom description here.
If you have enabled meta keywords you can add your custom keywords here. Keywords should be separated by comas. For example: wordpress, themes, templates, elegant
If you are not using cutsom post titles you can still have control over how your titles are generated. Here you can choose which order you would like your post title and blog name to be displayed, or you can remove the blog name from the title completely.
Here you can change which character separates your blog title and post name when using autogenerated post titles. Common values are | or -

There are several files included in the ZIP folder. These include wordpress theme files, plugin files, and photoshop files. To installed your wordpress theme you will first need to upload the theme/plugin files via FTP to your server.
First you are going to upload the theme folder. Inside the ZIP folder you downloaded you will see a folder named "theme." Within it is a folder named "DeepFocus." Via ftp, upload the "DeepFocus" folder to your Wordpress themes directory. Depending on where you installed Wordpress on your server, the wp themes folder will be located in a path similar to: /public_html/blog/wp-content/themes.
Next you need to select DeepFocus and make it your default theme. Click on the design link, and under the themes tab locate DeepFocus from the selection of themes and activate it. Your blog should now be updated with your new theme.
Finally, once the theme has been activated, you should navigate to the Appearances > DeepFocus Theme Options page. Here you can adjust settings pertaining to theme's display. Once you have adjusted whatever settings you would like to change click the "save" button. You must click the "save" button for the options to be saved to the database. Even if you did not change anything you should click the save button once before using the theme to insure that the database has been written correctly.
DeepFocus utilizes a script called TimThumb to automatically resize images. Whenever you make a new post you will need to add a custom field. Scroll down below the text editor and click on the "custom fields" link. In the "Name" section, input "Thumbnail" (this is case sensitive). In the "Value" area, input the url to your thumbnail image. Your image will automatically be resized and cropped. The image must be hosted on your domain. (this is to protect against bandwidth left)
Important Note: You must CHMOD the "cache" folder located in the DeepFocus directory to 777 for this script to work. You can CHMOD (change the permissions) of a file using your favorite FTP program. If you are confused try following this tutorial. Of course instead of CHMODing the template folder (as in the tutorial) you would CHMOD the "cache" folder found within your theme's directory.
The featured slider can be set up using two different methods. You can either popular the tabs using Pages, or you can popular it using posts from a designated category. In the Appearances > DeepFocus Theme Options page in wp-admin, under the General Settings > Featured Slider tab, you will see an option that says "Use Pages." If you select this option then pages will be used, if you don't then posts will be used. If you want to use Pages then you simply select "Use Pages," and then below the option select which pages you would like to display in the slider. If you don't use pages, then simply select the "Featured Category" from the dropdown menu and posts from that category will be added to the slider.
These blurbs are created using pages. Create two pages that you would like to use for these two blurbs, then go to the Appearances > DeepFocus Theme Options page and click the General Settings > Homepage tab. Under the Content Area 1/2 dropdown menus, choose the two pages you would like to use. Witin the pages you can use a "more" tag to truncate the post preview.
To create a blog you first need to create a new Blog Category. This category can be called whatever you want, but it must only contain posts that you wish to be displayed in blog format. Once you have created your category and added your blog posts, you need to tell the theme which category you have chosen to be your blog category. To do this, open the Appearances > DeepFocus Theme Options page in wp-admin and click on the General Settings > General tab. Look for the "Blog Category" setting and choose your category from the dropdown list.
Each theme comes with a readme file that includes detailed installation instructions. Before continuing, please make sure that you have read through this file and followed each step correctly. You can view the readme files online at the following locations: Bluesky, BlueMist, Simplism, Quadro, EarthlyTouch, ArtSee, TidalForce, Wooden, InterPhase, Who'sWho, StudioBlue, Influx, GrungeMag, eGallery, Cion, eVid, eGamer, LightSource, ColdStone, Basic, PureType, CherryTruffle, eBusiness, ePhoto, Bold, eNews
Many of the common issues that occur have already been covered in the video tutorials section of the members area. To access the video tutorials page log in here.
If you are using additional plugins that did not come with the theme it is possible that one of them is interfering with the design. Unfortunately it is impossible to predict what will happen when unknown code is place into my themes, so it is always important, if you are experiencing problems, to disable all of the plugins that did not come with the theme to see if they are at fault. Try disabling each plugin one by one to find the culprit.
When you download one of my themes and unzip it you will see a few different folders. Photoshop Files, Plugins, Theme, and, with select themes, Fonts. The "theme folder" that you need to upload to your server is located within the Theme folder in your ZIP file. You need to upload this folder to the correct folder on your server (wp-content/themes/). Do not upload the "Theme" folder, only upload the folder within the "Theme" folder. For example, if you are using my Studioblue theme you would want to upload the "StudioBlue" folder contained within the "Theme" folder to wp-content/themes. Do not upload StudioBlue's parent folder. Furthermore, make sure that you do not rename the "StudioBlue" folder. For more information you can also refer to this detailed video tutorial: Installing a Theme.
Wordpress is constantly changing, it is always best to keep your Wordpress install up-to-date. Using an out-dated version may lead to unknown problems.
Before contacting me about theme problems make sure customizations you made are not the cause of the problem. If you have made edits to the theme files, try uploading a fresh version of the theme and compare the two.
There are several different things that could lead to thumbnail troubles. For more information please read the following guide: Troubleshooting Timthumb.
Enabling this option will display a 468x60 banner ad on the bottom of your post pages below the single post content. If enabled you must fill in the banner image and destination url below.
